Our light kit has launched, yeah! To get you inspired I have created a You Tube video with a Bible page process. I played with Distress Oxides as they blend beautifully, and the yellows are nice and bright.
Let’s start…We are journaling in Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”
I added printer paper behind the page I was working on to protect the rest of my Bible, so that I only colour the page I am working on.
With a soft make up brush I blended some Distress Oxide Ink – Wild Honey to create a soft yellow glow at the bottom of the page.
Next I used a blending tool and blended some Distress Oxide Ink – Spiced Marmelade, with a blending tool through a ray stencil to create sun rays in the one corner of the page.
Because of the workload I have I do not have enough time to practice my hand writing, so I printed some of the words in the devotional I want to study in a pretty font, to trace them with a Tombow Fudenosuke calligraphy pen in different spots on my page.
To add more colour on the page I added another stencil and still using a blending brush, blended some Distress Oxide – Speckled egg through the stencil.
In your devotional booklet there are two pages that you can tear out to fussy cut the pictures on them. Because my verse says a lamp to my feet, I decided to cut out the little lamp and added it to my page with liquid glue.
The lamp I’ve added with the second stencilled image to creste a cluster that draws the eye over the page.
To make the lamp stand out a bit more, I coloured with a grey colouring pencil around the picture, to add some shadow and blended it a little with a blending stump.
With my white gelly roll pen I added some highlights on the lamp and on the Speckled egg stencil image. With a grunge stamp I created a border around my page with the Distress Oxide – Spiced Marmelade ink.
To create more interest on the page I drew some lines on the sun rays with a micron pen 01.
The page needed some more colour and texture and I decided to add some Little Birdie purple and yellow flowers.
Finally I pondered on my verse and drew a block around the verse with a Gelly Roll pen and did my journaling with a Micron sketch pen, I added a date stamp with the Speckled Egg Oxide ink. Yeah my first page using our new kit is done.
Hope you enjoyed the process. To help you more there is a You Tube video on our You Tube Channel, have fun.
